Location

The school building is located in Spjelkavik about 12 km northeast of the centre of Ålesund. Spjelkavik is one of the suburbs of Ålesund, and our students come from Ålesund and the surrounding areas. Spjelkavik is a central business district.

Ålesund is a 150-year-old picturesque fishing town on the north west coast of Norway with 43000 inhabitants. The town is located on 3 islands. The harbour in the inner city is very picturesque, and attracts a lot of tourists. After a fire in 1904 when most of the town was destroyed, the town centre was rebuilt in stone, and in the style of the period, art nouveau. The town is the most important port for fish exports in Norway, mostly "Bacalhao" (salted and dried cod) and frozen fish products.
